No good pics of your furry companion or your friends best loved pet? A few tips to help you take a better photograph for that special pet portrait.

What to do?
The number one tip is to take the picture on the same level as your subject and make sure they fill 50 percent or more of the screen. Don’t shoot too close to avoid clipping parts of the ears or body. Remember the picture can be cropped if needed at a later stage but its guess work to add bits.
- Keep your camera or phone straight (90 degree angle).
- Shoot at your highest resolution.
- Take your pictures in a well lit room or if outside shoot in the middle of the day to keep the pictures as sharp as possible.
- Send Steve the original picture from your phone or camera to avoid compression.
- Shooting in full sun? Shoot at a 90 degree angle away from the sun.

What to avoid?
- Avoid taking pictures with the sun in the background making your subject dark, burning out the sky or introducing lens flare to your pic.
- Shooting at an angle up or down especially when close leads to distortion in the corners.
- Avoid bright lit windows or doors shooting indoors.
- Shooting in a low lit room could lead to grainy or blurry pictures.
- Angling you phone or camera up to take a photo outside can also have the same affect as shooting into the sun.
